Pot and Driving in the North
Between January and March 2006, the Canadian Public Health Association
(CPHA) partnered with the Ajunnginiq (Inuit) Centre at the National
Aboriginal Health Organization (NAHO) to research issues related
to marijuana and driving safety in Aboriginal (with a focus on Inuit),
northern, remote and circumpolar communities.
As a result of this partnership, Pot and Driving resources were
developed for distribution to Inuit communities in the North in order
to raise awareness of the risks of driving high. Increased knowledge
and understanding of how to work effectively with Inuit communities
to address social problems was an outcome of the project.
